HOMEMADE SKUNK SHAMPOO
• 1 quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
• 1/2 cup of Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)
• 1 teaspoon of liquid soap
(You may have to increase the measures for a larger dog.)
This has to be made fresh – you can’t make it ahead of time. Don’t try to store it as it fizzes and will become pressurized if you put a lid on it.
Some people use paper towels to absorb some of the oil before bathing the dog.
Mix together and shampoo your dog. I recommend putting some cotton in their ears during their bath to prevent the shampoo and water from getting in their ears. Ensure you don’t get the mixture in their eyes or mouth.
Make sure that you rinse well after shampooing.
Wear old clothing as you’ll need to throw them away after taking care of the dog. Skunk spray is actually an oil so you want to avoid it getting on your clothes, furniture or carpeting.
