Yes, We Do Sleep With Our Clients! What Really Happens at an Overnight Visit!

All Tucked In for the Night

We enjoy our overnight visits with our furry clients.  Because of the time we have to play, walk and cuddle them they very quickly bond to us.  We really notice this when we’ve not seen a client for a few weeks and then come back for an overnight.  When we walk through that door they’re not stressed or worried that their owners are away, they are so happy and excited to see us.

A typical overnight for us starts around 4:00 – 5:00 pm where we’ll stop at our client’s house and visit with the dog.  Usually this is fairly close to their normal dinner time so they’ll be fed and taken out for a short walk for their bathroom break and then have time for some cuddles and love.

We’re back again at 9:00 pm and we take the dogs out for a nice long walk, usually about half an hour.  We’ll come back home and follow a pretty typical night at home.  We might play with the dogs – hide and seek with treats is always a favorite – we might brush them, or they may just want to cuddle up on the couch with us and watch TV on our ipad.  We reserve the right to pick what we watch……we can only watch Marmaduke so many times!

At bedtime they’ll go out again for a little bathroom break and then we hit the sack.  In 90% of cases the dogs sleep in the bed with us.  Yes, we do sleep with our furry clients; some of them are bed-hogs, some snore, some snuggle right in under the covers and some of them poke us to wake us up in the middle of the night for a bathroom break!

In the morning, usually around 7:00 am we’ll go for another nice long walk, and then come home and follow whatever routine they typically have in place.

We’ll head out and do our other calls and at 4:00 begin our overnight routine again!

Our clients love this service.  They know that their dog is comfortable and relaxed at home following their typical routine.  There is no worry about dropping off  or picking up their dog at a boarding kennel.  The house is occupied, a car in the driveway at night, plants watered, and mail and newspapers brought in.

The only thing our client has to do is let us know where they’d like us to sleep, we bring our own bedding and leave any area of the house we’ve been in spotless.

We leave a detailed note of what happened each day, as well we send out emails and photos if our clients would like daily updates.

Do we love our clients?  We sure do, they very quickly wiggle their way into our hearts and we love them like our own.  This is a love job, it really is, and we feel so fortunate to have all the love we give come right back to us.

If this is a service your dog will enjoy, please don’t hesitate to call, or send a message to us!
