Joanne’s lifelong love for animals, evident from her childhood as the neighbourhood “zoo keeper” set the foundation for her to open her dog walking, pet sitting business “Your Dog’s Coach.”
As well as having family dogs her whole life, Joanne worked for many years at a local animal clinic, which provided her with invaluable hands-on experience working with a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and horses.
Having a professional background in human resource management spanning over 20 years, Joanne has been able to integrate both her HR skills and her love for people and animals into her business . Her passion for coaching and motivating people has aligned well in her role as the owner of Your Dog’s Coach.
Most importantly, her HR background assisted her in putting together the most fantastic group of dog walkers and pet sitters ever. Most of them have worked with her for many years, and they are the backbone of the business! Each one of them has a sincere love for what they do and the animals they care for.
Staying current in the field is essential to us, so each year, the dog walkers are invited to attend a seminar hosted by Michelle Black of Pawsitively Happy Homes https://pawsitivelyhappyhome.com on current trends in dog training.
In her free time Joanne is the volunteer photographer for Happy’s Place – a senior dog rescue https://happysplace.ca/ as well as volunteering for Wienerfest every year https://wienerfest.ca
Your Dog’s Coach retains the appropriate insurance coverage for this type of business and our dog walkers are bonded.
